She was born November 28, 1928 in Edmonton Alberta, Canada to Henrietta McCuaig and her husband Henry Norris.
She proudly served in the Royal Canadian Navy and later with the United States Army where she obtained an honorable discharge for her service during the Korean Conflict. She was a very loyal and active member of the Catholic Church especially at St. James Catholic Church in Vancouver, Washington. She loved spending quality time with her family, was a wonderful cook, and above all, a dedicated and loving mother to her only son.
Outside the 17 years she spent as a homemaker and mother, she was a respected professional and worked in a wide variety of positions including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, U.S. Customs, and the Department of Immigration and Naturalization. She had lived in the Northwest Arkansas area since 2005 after moving from Vancouver, Washington, and since coming to Arkansas, she was attending St. Stephens Catholic Church of Bentonville along with some serves at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Rogers.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
Marilyn is survived by one son, Neil Cotham and his wife, Maggie, of Prairie Creek; one brother, Gilford "Gil" Norris of Edmonton Alberta, Canada; and one sister, Margie Gallmeister and her husband, Ronnie, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
There will be a funeral mass on Saturday, January 7 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Bentonville.
Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Tontitown, Arkansas.
