Ethel M. Block (nee Norman) "Tootie" Age 76, of Plainfield Township, passed away peacefully, Sunday, October 25, 2009 at home, with her family at her side. She was born in Bellwood, IL on January 15, 1933 to the late George and Ethel (Gruss) Norman. She attended Proviso Township High School . Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Gregg (Karen), Dale (Michelle) and Michael (Karen) Block; her beloved grandchildren, Lindsey and Jeff, Alex and Phillip, and Erik and Nick; her devoted sister and best friend, Dorothy (Emery) Darling; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Elmer W. "Bill" Block (2007); and her parents. Tootie, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, loved the outdoors. Some of her favorite pastimes were camping, fishing, traveling and preparing wonderful meals for her loved ones, but her main passion was being with her grandchildren. The Block family will forever be grateful to Razel, Tess and Lucy, Mom's caregivers, for their kindness and excellent care. Funeral Services for Ethel "Tootie" Block will be Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment Plainfield Township Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday 4-8 p.m. at: FRED C.
