SEGRIED ANN AYERS, 71, of Blountsville (Royal community), died Oct. 19, 2009, at St. Vincent's East in Birmingham. Born in Jefferson County, she was the daughter of the late Gordon Noel and the late Jewel Hughes Noel Macon. A beautician, she was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by an infant son and brother Gordon Noel.
Surviving are husband Marvin Payton Ayers; son Jonathan (Stacy) Ayers of Blountsville; daughters Elizabeth (Jim) Reynolds and Annette (Allen) Bell of Blountsville; sister Linda Smith; grandchildren Joshua Bell, Rebekah Pearson, Joelle Reynolds, Andrew Reynolds, and Dakota Ayers; seven great-grandchildren.
Bart Bowlin officiated services Oct. 22 at 2 p.m. at Blountsville Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at South Cemetery near Blountsville. Pallbearers were Dakota Ayers, Josh Bell, Keith Ayers, Andrew Reynolds, Jeff Pearson, Billy Smith, and Patrick Jackson.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggested donations be made to American Cancer Society in memory of Segried Ayers.
