Ruby J. Hearn, 87, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2002, in a Fort Smith nursing home. She was retired from the Fort Smith school system, a charter member of the Haven Heights Baptist Church and a member of Rebekah Sunday school class.

Ms. Hearn was preceded in death by her husband: Jesse R. Hearn, and a brother:Elmer Nixon.
She is survived by a daughter, Joye Hart of Van Nuys, Calif.; two sons, Charles Hearn of Mars Hill, N.C., and Donald Hearn of Fort Smith; three sisters, Bernice Golyar of Union City, Mich., Margie McCartney of Monticello and Edris Dell of Bokoshe; two brothers, Lester Nixon of Witcherville and Alfred Nixon of Greenwood; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, November 6, 2002, at Haven Heights Baptist Church in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was laid to rest at Clarks Chapel Cemetery, near Greenwood, Arkansas, on Highway 252 East.
Pallbearers will be Kelly Hearn, A.W. and Bill Mitchael, Joe White, Sid Hampton and Bill Wilkerson.
