| Birth: | Jan. 27, 1872 Franklin County Iowa, USA | | Death: | Nov. 16, 1937 Sioux City Woodbury County Iowa, USA |  Funeral Services for Mrs.Mary Carpenter,65.of 4911 Morningside Ave,will be conducted Friday at 2:30p.m.in Morningside Presbyterian Church with Rev.W.R.Moore officiating.Burial in Graceland Park Cemetery.Mary died Tuesday evening at her home after a long illness.She well known at Morningside church and club member and the wife of H.U.Carpenter of Carpenter-Walsh Commission Company at the Stockyards.Mary was born Jan.27,1872 in Franklin County,Iowa.She lived many years at Hampton,Ia.,and came to Sioux City in 1891.She married H.U.Carpenter April 5,1893 in Sioux City.She was a member of Morningside Presbyterian church and was one of the organizer of Westminister Presbyteruan church.She was president of the ladies Aid of Morningside church for seven years.Also member of Isis Chapter O.E.S.Hathor Temple,Daughters of the Nile and the Pioneer Club of Women's Benefit association.Survivors includes the widower;a son Harry;a grandson Harry Jr. all of Sioux City;a brother,James Niven of Merrill;two sisters,Mrs.J.T.Griggs and Mrs.H.C.Weintz both of Sioux City;a niece Mrs.Laura Borger of Sioux City.
