Jewell Edna Akers of Potosi, Mo., passed away July 27, 1995, in Washington County Memorial Hospital, Potosi, at the age of 71 years, 6 months and 5 days. She was born January 22, 1924, at Palmer, Mo., to the late Claude and Lula (Beers) Nipper.

Jewell knew the Lord as her savior and was a member of the Temple Baptist Church in Belgrade. She was a member of the Belgrade Order of the Eastern Star #394, she belonged to the Washington County Memorial Hospital Pink Ladies, and was President of the Antioch Community Center.

She was united in marriage to Perry William Yount March 2, 1945, and three sons were born to this union. Mr. Yount passed away June 10, 1966. She was also preceded in death by one son, James Terry Yount; two brothers, Bobby and Linton Nipper; three sisters, Reva Nipper, Marie Nipper and Mildred Dorothy Baldridge.

She was united in marriage to Henry Akers on July 1, 1976, at Potosi.

Those who remain to mourn her passing from this life are her loving and devoted husband, Henry Akers; two sons, Gary Yount and wife, Dianna of Potosi and Michael Yount and wife, Debbie of Potosi; two step-daughters, Shirley Parks and husband, Harold of Gamaliel, Arkansas, and Bettie Morris and husband, Ed of Belgrade; one brother Wendell Nipper and wife, Bonnie of Potosi; two sisters, Genevieve Yount and husband Earl of Potosi, and Donna Warden and husband, Paul of Potosi; four granchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services were conducted 3 P.M. Saturday, July 29, 1995 at Temple Baptist Church, Belgrade with Rev. Wayne Gibson and Rev. Charles Evans officiating. Interment was in Antioch Cemetery (Quaker) under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.

Serving as pallbearers were: Tim Yount, Roger Yount, Marty Yount, Larry Baldridge, Joe Trokey and Dennis Nipper. Honorary Pallbearers were Bruce Nipper and Justin Yount.
