MRS ERIK NIELSEN
Mrs. Erik Nielsen died at the home of her daughter and son in law, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Whingelby of Marshfield township, Monday, July 7th after a long illness.
She was buried from the Danish church, Thursday July 10th and laid to rest at the Danish graveyard. The Rev. Hernik Plambeck spoke and read the last rites. Many friends and relatives attended and there were many beautiful flowers.
Mrs. Nielsen was born in Denmark in 1844 and was therefore 74 years of age at the time of her death. In 1871 she was married to Mr. Erik Nielsen and they made their home in Denmark until 1897 when they came to Clinton, Iowa. There they resided for ten years, but in 1907 they moved to Lake Benton and made their home in Diamond Lake Township until the death of Mr. Nielsen some years ago.
In late years Mrs. Nielsen made her home at Mr. Whingleby's place. She leaves six children. Those residing here are, besides Mrs. Whingleby, Mrs. Johannes Krog and Mr. Aage Nielsen. One son, Mr. Niels Nielsen died at Clinton, Iowa last spring.
