Family history of Benjamin tells us that he was taken right off of the farm field to enlist in the war, without choice. He went awol at one point, returning home from missing his wife so much. It is then that she got pregnant with their son Benjamin Jr. (my Great Grandfather.) A "friend" turned him in, and he returned to his regiment. He was captured and sent to Libby Prison, then Andersonville.

To my Great, Great Grandfather...if it weren't for you, and what you did, I wouldn't be here, my children wouldn't be here, we owe our lives to you. Peace & Love to you.
