Mildred E. (Billie) Brownfield, 63, of Othello, formerly of Chelan, died Tuesday in Othello following a sudden illness.
Mrs. Brownfield was born Dec. 2, 1902, at Kalispell, Mont., and moved to Spokane. She later came to Wenatchee where she was employed with the federal government, organizing the Regional Agricultural Credit Corp.
In 1935 she came to Chelan and was employed with the Miners and Merchants Bank. She was married to Stewart Brownfield at Goldendale on Feb. 17, 1940 and they lived at Chelan until 1948 when they moved to Baker, Ore.
In 1959 they moved to Gearhart, Ore., where they owned and operated a gift shop. They had lived in Othello for the past year.
Surviving are her husband; two brothers, Walter Nichols, of San Diego, Calif.; Frank Nichols, of Ill., and a sister, Mrs. Margaret Hankins, of St. Paul, Minn.
