The funeral service for longtime Cottage Grove School cafeteria cook Paytre Lillian Cox of Paris was scheduled at 10 a.m. today at Ridgeway Funeral Home.
Mike Wimberley and Bennie Akers were to officiate. Burial was to follow in Olive Branch Cemetery in northwest Henry County.
Named as pallbearers were Raymond Cox, James Earl Paschall, Earl Davis, Alex Zinc and J.W. and Bobby Akers.
Visitation was Sunday and today.
Cox, 92, died Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Henry County Medical Center.
Born May 31, 1919, in Cottage Grove, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Minnie Brown Nichols.
She was married on July 6, 1940, to Raymond Baxter Cox, who died Dec. 26, 2004.
She was a member of Olive Branch United Methodist Church.
Survivors are one daughter: Patricia (Keith) Hopkins of Paris; one son: Ronnie Rhea (Ginny) Cox of Springville; eight grandchildren: Ruth Harper and Rhea Cox, who were raised by Raymond and Paytre Cox, and Josh, Donnie, John Ed, Jerriann, Shawn and Shane Cox; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by a daughter: Linda Paulette Cox; three sons: Jerry, Robert and James Baxter Cox; two sisters: Illa Cox, Edna Housden and Ella Paschall; o
