Services were held on Sunday, May 21, 2000, at Ridgeway Funeral Home, for former Paris Police Chief, William Curtis Nichols. Officiating at the service was T. Leon Ridgeway.
He had suffered a long illiness and died Friday May 19, 2000, at the Camden General Hospital in Benton County. He was 69 years old.
William Curtis was born April 29, 1931 in Paris, Tenn. He was the son of Thomas O. Nichols Sr. and Ila Mae Pierce Nichols, both deceased.
A U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, amd a member of the Springville Masonic Lodge 130, he had worked for many years in law enforcement for the Paris Police Department.
He had one daughter, Jenifer Allison of Paris and one grandaughter, Carie Nichols of Paris.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Randy Nichols; a brother, Thomas O. Nichols Jr.; a sister, Christine Nichols; and a grandson, Jimmy Nichols.
Chosen as pallbearers for his funeral service were Donald Nichols, Charles Allen, Billy Dale Hicks, Billy Dunlap, Windell Flanagan and Raymond Wagner.
