Charles S. Newman, 74 of Star City, died Tuesday, December 25, 1979 JRMC, Pine Bluff, ARk. He was born July 25, 1905 at Fennyville, Lincoln County, Star City, Arkansas. He was the son of George A. and Frances Wade Louise Blasengame Feagin Newman. He was a farmer and timberman. He was a member of Long Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Fennyville, He was the Democrat central committeeman of the Spring Township of Lincoln County.

Beside his parents he was preceeded in death by a brother Corbette Newman, and 2 sisters, Bertha Corrine Newman, Jessie Laurene Newman

Survivors include his wife, Gracie Mullikin Newman and one sisters, Oma Newman Byrd Bridges of Bellflower, California and half sister, Zola Newman Hankins of Pine Bluff.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 1979 at Long Grove Missionary Baptist Church at Fennyville, by Bro. Frank Glover, and Bro. Hershel Lee. Buiral was in the Newman Cemetery on Hwy 212 West of Star City, Arkansas, by Hale South Funeral Home of Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
