Mrs. Calvin Ankney, a resident of the Coleman community for the past seventeen years, passed away in her Wise Township home Friday of last week. She had been in failing health for several years and confined to her home the past twenty-three months.
Carrie E. Nevill was born the daughter of James and Mary Nevill at Clare, Michigan June 23, 1884, and passed away in Wise Township, Isabella County, Michigan November 11, 1949 at the age of sixty-five years, four months and nineteen days.
On November 3, 1908, she was united in marriage to Calvin Ankney of Lansing, where they made their home for thirteen years. In the year 1932, they returned to Coleman where they have since resided.
She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and the Eagle Church for many years and was active in the work of the church as long as her health permitted.
She leaves behind to mourn their loss the bereaved husband Calvin; son James and his wife and baby daughter Patricia who made their home with the parents; a sister Ada Nevill of Coleman; a brother Ivan Nevill of Sheridan Township; nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held from the O'Laughlin Funeral Home in Coleman Sunday afternoon with Rev. Jason Methner officiating. Burial was in the Coleman Cemetery.
