David S. Neubert, 85, of Indian River passed away Wednesday, February 04, 2009 at the Hospice House in Cheboygan. A memorial service will be announced in the spring. David was born February 6, 1923 in Ypsilanti, MI. He was the son of William and Jennie (Ashton) Neubert. He grew up in Ypsilanti where he attended school. David was a veteran of World War Two serving with the Army Air Corps. On Aug. 23, 1946 he married the former Nancy L. Eberlin in Ypsilanti. After a period of moving the couple settled in Milan, MI where they raised their family. David was employed as a lineman with Detroit Edison. He retired in 1985. In 1995 David and Nancy moved to Indian River where they have been since. He enjoyed hiking, biking, camping, traveling, square dancing and spending time with his grandkids. He attended the Indian River United Methodist Church. David is survived by his wife, Nancy; daughters, Sandra (Don) Weber of Alanson, Deborah (Tom) Chapman of Indian River; grandchildren, Jeff (Jen) Cunkle and children Alyson and Davin, Lisa (Jim) Diroff and children, Kaegan and Colton; sisters, Della Rawson of Ypsilanti, Virginia Grams of CA, Netia (Chuck) Haydon of Ypsilanti, Jean (Orvle) Henson of Oscoda, Nancy (Gene) Bedwell of Whitmore Lake, MI; brother, Bill (Kathy) Neubert of Emerson, PA; several nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Straits. Lintz Funeral Home in Indian River assisted the family with arrangements.
