Joyce Ellyn Bell, 76, of Georgetown, went to be with her Lord at 10:35 p.m. Tuesday (Aug. 10, 2004) while at home.
She was born in Ridge Farm Oct. 20, 1927, the daughter of Noble and Gladys (Lewis) Neubert. She was united in marriage to Paul Bell on Nov. 3, 1946, in Ridge Farm. He survives of Georgetown.
Others who will miss her include: her children, Jean (Dennis) Duden of Fithian, Carolyn (Terry) Monke of Litchfield, Shirley Bell of Galesburg, Virginia Emond of Clinton, Conn., and Connie (Charles) Rhoden of Georgetown; her sister, Ruth Kruse of Grants Pass, Ore.; her 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Her parents preceded her in death.
As a homemaker, Joyce was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Georgetown. She hosted a small study group and had been an Adult Sunday school teacher. During her spare time, she enjoyed painting and sewing. She treasured her family.
A celebration of Joyce's life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 14 at First United Methodist Church of Georgetown; Officiating: Rev. Ray Price; Visitation: 4-7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 13 at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home in Georgetown; Burial: Crown Hill Cemetery in Ridge Farm; Memorials in Joyce's name may be made to First United Methodist Church of Georgetown.
