Ruth Luella Ness was the daughter of Andrew O Ness and Laura Larson.
Ruth married Clarence J Alstad. They had two children: Marilyn and James Curtis Alstad.
Obit was located in "Duluth News Tribune" 9/30/1990 and reads as follows:
"Ruth L. Alstad, 82, Cloquet, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 1990, in Cloquet. Born in Racine, Wis., she had been a Cloquet resident since 1931. She graduated from high school in Westby, Mont., in 1926. She retired as manager for Sears Roebuck in Cloquet in 1974. Her husband, Clarence "Bud," died in 1972. Survivors include a son, James of Grand Rapids; a daughter, Marilyn Alstad of Bennington, Vt.; a brother, Curtis Ness of Billings, Mont.; three sisters, Linda, Jane and Esther Ness of Cloquet; and three grandsons. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. services Wednesday in Cloquet Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Cloquet. Arrangements are by Barr Brothers Funeral Home, Cloquet."
