Helen Opal Aldrich, 89, of Wiggins and formerly of Merino, died Wednesday, Aug. 16, 1995, in Fort Morgan.
Visitation and viewing begins 10 a.m., Friday, Aug. 18, at Chaney-Walters Funeral Home. Funeral is 10 a.m., Saturday, also at Chaney-Walters Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Dexter officiat ing. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.
Mrs. Aldrich was born Nov. 23, 1905, to Nel and Anna Bondesson Nelson in Northboro, Iowa.
She moved with her family to Merino where she attended school and graduated from high school.
She married Harold Aldrich Dec. 7, 1923 in Willard. They con tinued to live in Merino until 1933 when they moved to the Proctor area. In 1947, they moved to Niwot. In 1954, they moved to Fort Lupton. She then lived in Wiggins from 1972 until her death.
Mrs. Aldrich was a member of the Wiggins Community Church, Wiggins Womens Fellowship, Rinn Methodist Church and she was district secretary for Christ United Methodist Church.
She is survived by three sons, Daryl Lee and wife Rosemary of Denver, Donald of Wiggins and Elton and wife Kaye of Wiggins; three daughters, Alta Kerschner and husband Francis "Frank" of Sterling, Evelyn Betz and husband Fred of LaSalle and Edna Maul of Broomfield; a sister, Hazel Melvin of Brush; 21 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Aldrich was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, a daughter, Alice Kerschner, a brother, Ermal, and a sister, Selma Kerscimer.
