Mary Elizabeth (Nelson) Abell was the daughter of Justus and Mary Elizabeth (Odell) Nelson. She was the 1st wife of Rev. Alfred Wilcox Abell. They were married Lockport, New York December 13, 1855. He was a minister in the Genesee (now Western New York) Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
