Eleanor (Dumas) Nelson, 89, of Englewood, Florida, formerly of Superior, died Saturday, Sept 1, 2012 in Venice Florida. Eleanor was born to Mose and Anna (Pettit) Dumas on Dec 28, 1922, in Superior.
She was a graduate of Superior Cathedral High School in 1940. She was a founding member of the ARC (Assn for retarded citizens) and a lifetime member of the Mom's night out homemakers club. Eleanor and her husband Ivor owned and operated Berg Drapery Shop in Duluth.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivor; a son, Ivor Nelson Jr; a daughter, Marianne (Nelson) Patton; a sister, Dorothy Shipman; and her parents.
She is survived by a daughter, Nancy (Rick) Cornell of Englewood, FL; three sons, James of Rotonda West, FL, Greg of Kissimmee, FL and Edward (Julie) of Maplewood, MN; fifteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Virginia Arwine of Tampa, FL and JoAnn Dumas of Green Bay, WI.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
