Noted national architect. His works include the courthouse in St. Louis, Mo.; in Shreveport Schumpert Hospital, Barret Elementary School, Byrd High School, the Scottish Rite Cathedral, the Calanthean Temple and St. John Berchmans Cathedral; and in Arkansas the Japanese internment camp at Rohwer and McGehee. At the invitation of President Harry Truman he oversaw renovation of the White House, and he began the design work on the Truman Presidential Library that was finished by his longtime associate and partner Dewey E. Somdal.
