The Deshler Rustler (Deshler, NE), Wednesday, October 4, 1922; pg. 11

Heinrichs - Nehrig.

A beautiful wedding took place on Sunday, Oct. 1, 1922, at the Trinity Lutheran church (sic), of Friedensau, immediately after the morning services, when Mr. Herbert Nehrig, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Nehrig, and Emma Heinrichs, daughter of Mrs. Anna Heinrichs, were joined in the holy bonds of matrimony, the Rev. H. Schabacker performing the ceremony. Undred the sweet strains of Lohengrin's wedding march, played by Prof. H.W. Lemke, of Friedensau, the bridal procession entered the church.

The bride was very handsomely dressed in a grown of white canton crepe, trimmed with Spanish lace, carrying a shower boquet (sic) of bridal wreath with roses. The groom wore a brown Kuppenheimer suit. Miss Ida Heinrichs, sister of the bride, acting as maid of honor, was dressed in Vertuse crepe de chine, carrying a boquet (sic) of white carnations. Miss Julia Reinboth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theo. Reinboth, acting as bridesmaid, wore a gown of flesh pink crepe de chine. Mr. Anton Nehrig, best man, brother of the groom wore a handsome dark grey suit. Elsie Nehrig, sister of the groom, and Lillie Flathmann, cousin of the bride, the former being dressed in perriwinkle (sic) organdie and the latter in lemon organdie, carrying a basket of white carnations with fern leaves, acted as flower girl.

The church was crowded to capacity with friends and guests to witness the ceremony. After the ceremony all the guests gathered at the home of the bride's mother, where at 12 o'clock a sumptuous dinner was served. The afternoon was spent in visiting, music, and partaking of the refreshments. At 6 o'clock a bounteous supper was served. In the evening, an unusual charivari crowd, about 125 in number, entertained the young couple with a serenade. The couple in return served them with refreshments. Immediately after this a program, led by Prof. H. W. Lemke, was given, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. The guests stayed till a late hour, departing with the wish, that the young couple's life may be a long and happy one.

Mr. and Mrs. Nehrig were the recipients of many valuable and serviceable presents. The bride and groom, well-known young people of splendid character, will make their home on the farm of the groom's father, known as the old Tipker place.
