Rachel Wilhelmina was born in Van Buren Township, Hancock County, Ohio to Johannes (John) William “Will” and Emma A. (Arras) Neff on September 18, 1913. Her mother died when she was 14 years old. Rachel, age 21, married Wilbert James Griffith, age 28, in Ft. Wayne, Indiana by Rev. Ernest J. Boerger on August 2, 1935. They were divorced in Hancock County, Ohio on April 26, 1947. (Wilbert Griffith was born in Guelph, Ontario, Canada to William B. and Jessie [Marchmont] Griffith on September 21, 1906 and died at the Riverside Hospital in Toledo, Ohio on January 17, 1991 and is buried in Forest Cemetery in Toledo, Ohio.) Rachel, age 33, then married Harry Francis Tigar, age 50, in Los Angeles, California by Rev. Arthur W. Alm on June 28, 1947. (Harry Tigar was born in Brooklyn, New York to Walter & Ann Ellen [Colecroft] Tigar on September 22, 1896. Harry married Eleanor Magdalena Jacobson in about 1916. To this union was born one daughter, Grace Lorraine in Flatbush, New York on December 3, 1917. Harry and Eleanor were divorced in Lucas County, Ohio on December 4, 1946. Eleanor then married Vincent J. McGranahan on March 31, 1953 and he died February 4, 1961. Eleanor died in Palm Beach County, Florida on September 15, 1980). Harry and Rachel moved to Florida and he died in Wilton Manors, Broward County, Florida on May 2, 1967. His body was cremated on May 4, 1967 and the whereabouts of his ashes is unknown. Rachel then married Bill Bailey in Florida in 1979. (Bill was born August 12, 1924 and died December 7, 2004. His body was cremated and his ashes were buried in the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida on January 9, 2005. Bill was a Sargent in the U.S. Army and served his country in World War II and Korea.) Rachel, 87, died in Hospice of the Treasure Coast, Fort Pierce, Florida on Monday, September 10, 2001. Her arrangements are under the direction of Aycock Funeral Home, Port St. Lucie and she is buried in the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. Rachel did not give birth to any children. In addition to her husband Bill, she is survived by her sister, Rebecca Beagle, both of Port St. Lucie, Florida.
