Lela M. Blankenship, 85, of Jerseyville, formerly of Springfield, passed away Friday, September 24, 2010 at her home.
She was born June 7, 1925 in Pawnee, the daughter of Francis M. and Sarah M. (Candiff) Neer. She married Harrison T. Blankenship in 1948 in Charleston, West Virginia.
She was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Mrs. Blankenship was a homemaker and a member of United Pentecostal Church.
She is survived by her husband, Harrison; son, William Stahl of Jerseyville; a brother, Lester L. Neer of Des Moines, IA; a sister, Edna M. Grady of Des Moines, IA; 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 27, 2010 at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home, with Reverend John Wentz officiating. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
