ELLEN DUNLOP - Ellen M. Dunlop, 88, of Shelby passed away early Wednesday morning April 17, 1991 at Nelson's Adult Foster Care Facility in rural White Cloud (Newaygo Co.). She was born Feb. 28, 1903 in Shelby Township, the daughter of Hardin and Almedia Augustine Near. She married to Ivan Dunlop in 1947 in Shelby. He passed away May 13, 1977. Mrs. Dunlop was a life resident of the area and was a member of the Reformed Mennonite Church. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Harry (Jessie) Beehler of Stratford, ON, Canada; three step-daughters, Mrs. Pete (Catherine) Sanoff of Hesperia, and Mrs. Avery (Irene) England and Mrs. Charles (Mary) England, both of Shelby, and 13 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers Omer, Ben, Charles George Near and sisters Grace Watson and Mabel and Verena Near. Funeral services for Mrs. Dunlop were at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 19 at the Reformed Mennonite Church with Robert Beehler officiating minister. Interment was in the Mennonite cemetery. Arrangements were by the Cooper-Harris Funeral Home of Shelby.
