Sister Agnes Marie Nash, Franciscan Sister of Perpetual Adoration, 92, died Monday, July 29, 2002, at Villa St. Joseph, La Crosse. Sister Agnes Marie was born to Joseph and Mary (Pattee) Nash on March 31, 1910, in Bozeman, Mont. She entered St. Rose Convent on June 27, 1932. Entering the teaching profession, she served for six years as a primary teacher and nine years as home economics teacher in elementary and secondary parochial schools in Iowa and Wisconsin, including two years at Aquinas High School.
Sister Agnes Marie started the Home Economics Department at Viterbo College and taught there for 26 years. She retired to St. Rose Convent in 1978 and to the villa in 2000. Sister Agnes Marie is survived by her Franciscan Community; one sister, Mr. and Mrs. H.C. (Elizabeth) Luhn, Gallatin Gateway, Mont.; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and four sisters.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, when the body will be met at St. Rose Convent. A prayer service will be held that evening at 7 p.m. in Mary of the Angels Chapel. The Rev. Edwin Thome, Onalaska, Wis., will preside at the Mass of Christian Burial in Mary of the Angels Chapel at 9 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 1. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, La Crosse.
