Native Staten Islander Native Staten Islander Barbara Napier, 71, of Browns Mills, New Jersey, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died Thursday at Buttonwood Hospital in Browns Mills.
She was born and raised Barbara Callan in Stapleton.
Mrs. Napier moved to Sayreville, New Jerset, where she spent much of her life, in 1972. She settled in Browns Mills seven years ago.
She worked as a nursing schedule coordinator for South Amboy (New Jersey) Hospital for twenty-five years, until retiring in 1996.
Mrs. Napier doted on her grandchildren and enjoyed traveling.
Her husband of thirty-one years, Thomas, died in 1991.
Surviving are her sons, Thomas and John; her daughters, Lori Syndetos and Barbara Johnson; her mother, Sophie Callan; her brother, Richard; eleven grandchildren; and two great-grandchilden.
The funeral servicews will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the Moore Funeral Home, Browns Mills.
Arrangements include private burial.
