Esther Kienzle (Shaheen) Nagle
96, of Canton, passed away Sept. 6, 2012, at the Canton Regency. Esther was born Feb. 22, 1916, in Canton, and was a resident for 68 years. She was a graduate of McKinley High School and Kent State University. Esther taught grade school two years at West North School and 30 years at Prairie College before retiring in 1976.
After the death of her first husband of 40 years, George Shaheen in 1984, Esther moved to Bonita Springs, Florida where she met and married Jessie Nagle who preceded her in death on Sept. 25, 2011.
Esther was active in 'The Lord's Quilters' at Bonita Springs Methodist Church, the Lions Club (16 years) where she received the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award, AARP, Ohio Retired Teachers , Nature Conservancy, life member of the 1934 McKinley High School Alumni Association and National Honor Society.
Esther is survived by her daughter, Juliette Shaheen of Naples, Fla.; son, Deeb (Patricia) Shaheen of Canton, Ohio; granddaughters, Juliette (Santo) Giardina of Bella Vista, Ark. and Justine Beaber and (Ollie Malala) of Haywood, Calif,; great-grandchildren, Andrew Giardina, Pele and Kiana Malala.
Services and burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Salvation Army. Arrangements are under the direction of the Reed Funeral Home.
