Daniel Nagle was a Corrections Officer for the William McConnell Prison in Beeville, Texas for 4 years. He died in the line of duty at age 37. While on duty at the Prison he was attacked by inmates. He was stabbed to death by a shank. His body was found in a hallway between two recreation rooms in a minimum security area. The accused suspect murdered Officer Nagle out of revenge, for not being allowed to carry a sack lunch into the recreation yard. On April 23rd, 2002, the suspect was found guilty and sentenced to death. Officer Nagle was survived by his wife and three young children.
