Bernadine M. Kinkelaar, 93 of Effingham died at 2:55 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2003, at Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Effingham.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Effingham, with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Bauer Funeral Home, Effingham, with a 5 p.m. combined Catholic Daughters of the Americas and Council of Catholic Women rosary followed by a parish wake service at 6 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony schools.
Mrs. Kinkelaar was born July 6, 1910, in Effingham, the daughter of Casper and Elizabeth (Koester) Nacke. She married George H. Kinkelaar on April 9, 1929. He preceded her in death in 1995.
She was a homemaker; a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Effingham, where she served as minister of praise; St. Anthony Council of Catholic Women and Catholic Daughters of the Americas.
Surviving are her sons, George (wife Barbara) Kinkelaar Jr. of Pinetop, Ariz., Ken Kinkelaar of Effingham, and Gregg (wife Suzanne) of Defiance, Mo.; daughters, Norma Jean (husband Clyde) Buzzard of Tucson, Ariz., Florence (husband, Frederick) Marten of Glencoe, Mo., Joan "Annie" (husband, Tom) Miller of Teutopolis, and Judy (husband, Clete) Goeckner of Effingham; brothers Donald (wife Dolores) Nacke of Mesa, Ariz.; sister, Mildred Stumeier of Effingham; sisters-in-law, Beulah Nacke of Tucson, Ariz., Minnie Kinkelaar of Effingham, and Ludvina Kinkelaar of Effingham; 37 grandchildren; and 81 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three grandchildren, three brothers and one sister.
