Miss Anna Nacke
Miss Anna Nacke, age 89, died at 12:45 p.m. Sat. at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham where she had been a patient for three days.
Miss Nacke was born Sept. 14, 1879 in Teutopolis, a daughter of Casper and Mary Gardewine Nacke. She spent most of her life in Teutopolis but was a patient at the Rollin Hills Nursing Home in Effingham since September 15, 1967.
She was a member of the St. Ann's Sodality. Miss Nacke never married.
Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Katherine Boyle of Mercer, Wis., and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four brothers: Louis, George, Casper Sr. and Harry Nacke and three sisters: Ida Brumleve, Mayme Terstegge, and Clara Koester.
The body lay in state at the Habing Funeral Home in Teutopolis where the rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Francis Church with burial in the parish cemetery. Rev. Ralph Scherrer O.F.M. officiated. Pallbearers were nephews: Ray and Richard Brumleve of Teutopolis, Joe, Steve, and Ed Nacke of Effingham and Casper Nacke Jr. of Arcola.
Out of town people attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kulavic of Springfield and Mr. and Mrs. Casper Nacke Jr. of Arcola.
Those from out of town attending the wake were Rev. Joseph Terstegge of Loogootee, Indiana, Mrs. Bernard Terstegge and Mrs. Thomas Terstegge of Terre Haute, and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Kulavic of Springfield.
