Mrs. Ella Cora Atkinson, wife of McCllellan H. Atkinson, proprietor of the Mansion House, this place, died at 5 o'clock Monday morning from the effects of a stroke of paralysis which she sustained on February 2nd. AS noted in these columns at the time, Mrs. Atkinson had been on a visit to her former home in Steelton and while on her way home, as she was going from the Pennsylvania railroad station in Duncannon to the S.R.&W.R.R.(Susquehanna River & Western Railroad/or Perry County Railroad) depot, she was attacked with a spell of heart failure. She was brought home and seemed on a fair way to recovery, when she sustained a stroke of paralysis which left her papalyzed and in a state of semi-consciousness, in which condition she remained until the end came.

Mrs. Ella Cora Atkinson was a daughter of Charles and Sharah (Smith) Myers and was born August 18, 1867, in Orristown, Franklin County, Pa. She was united in marriage to Mr. Atkinson on the 9th of January, 1894. They lived in Steelton for some years and then moved to Linglestown, where they resided one year. In 1907 Mr. Atkinson purchased the Mansion House and came here, where he and his wife have since made their home.

The deceased is survived by her husband, three brothers, and one sister namely; Alvin Myers of Chambersburg; William Myers, of Shippensburg; Hugh Myers, of Dakota, and Mrs. Mary Barnhart, of Shippensburg.

Mrs. Atkinson was a kind-hearted woman, of amiable disposition and pleasant manners. She had won many friends among the people here and all who knew her admired and respected her.

Funeral serivces were held at the house last evening at 7 o'clock, conducted by Rev. John W. Weeter, and interment was made in the Baldwin Cemetery, Steelton, this morning.
