MARY M. LEBER
AGE: 89 POINT PLEASANT
Mary M. Leber, 89, of Point Pleasant, passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2010.
Born in Newark to John and Margaret Murtha, Mary went on to work at the Newark Evening News and as a secretary for the Archdiocese of Newark School System. But it was at her job at Pfiefer's Butchers Supply in Newark where Mary met the love of her life, the late Joseph Leber.
Married for over 60 years, together they raised their five beautiful children, before moving to Point Pleasant over 25 years ago. She was proud of her family, and proud to be Irish! Although we will miss her, Mary is now at peace, and rejoicing to see her beloved Joseph once again.
Mary was predeceased by her parents, John & Margaret; her husband, Joseph, and her brother, John who was killed in the Philippine's in WWII.
She is survived by her children; son, John & Janette Leber of Paramus, son, Joseph & Veronica Leber of Port Murray, son, Jerome Leber, daughter, Mary & Nicholas Lisa of Arizona, and daughter, Eileen & Jed Yaney of Bridgewater; her sister, Jean Byrnes of Toms River; grandchildren, Christine, Nicole, Kathryn, Matthew, and Rachel; and great granddaughter, Addison.
Visitation will be held at O'Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick on Thursday from 4-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday at 11am at St. Martha's Church, Pt. Pleasant, with burial to follow at NJ Veterans' Cemetery, Wrightstown.
