Bridges, Ella Murray-70, of the Pentecost Community, Oneida, passed away Saturday morning, December 5, 1987, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Knoxville following a lingering illness. Mrs. Bridges was the daughter of the late James B. Murray and the late Mary Lay Murray and was also preceded in death by three sisters, Beulah Bridges, Velma Slaten, and Katheryn Reynolds; and two brothers, Joe and Earl Murray. She was a member of the Pentecost Baptist Church in Oneida. She is survived by her husband, Everett Bridges of Oneida; two sons, James B. Bridges of Virginia Beach, Va., and Everett Bridges, Jr., of Bowling Green, O.; two daughters, Kitty Ellis Miller of Oneida, and Ruth Phillips of Fairfield, O.; one sister, Wanda Reynolds of Knoxville; one aunt, Ella Butler of Knoxville; 16 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 8, 1987 at the West-Murley Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. James O. Laxton officiating. Burial was in the Valley View Cemetery at Elk Valley. Pallbearers were: Everett J. Bridges, Jeffery J. Bridges, Paul Ellis, Ronald C. Ellis, Donald R. Ellis, and Warren H. Ellis. Honorary pallbearers were: Joe Murray, Jr., Clyde Murray, Estel Murray, and Clifford Murray. West-Murley Funeral Home in Oneida was in charge of the arrangements.
