Jerry "Butch'' Murray, 44, Nevada route 1, died at 3:40 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, 1996, at Nevada Regional Medical Center of injuries sustained in an accident near his home.
Mr. Murray was born Jan. 4, 1952, in Butler,MO. He graduated from Rich Hill High School in 1970. He was a rancher and truck driver. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Nevada Eagles Lodge. He served in the Army from 1971 to 1973.
Survivors include a son, Todd Murray, Nevada; a daughter, Brooke Murray, Nevada; a stepson, Dereck Palmer, El Dorado Springs; his father and stepmother, William and Virginia Murray, Butler; his mother, Wanda Miller, Nevada; four sisters, Jeanie Kern, Sandy Wilson, Donna Kenny and Brenda Moreland, all of Nevada; three brothers, Ron "Peck'' Moreland, Nevada, and Merlin and Bobby Murray, both of Butler; and his grandmother, Pansy Stoner, Rich Hill.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. The Rev. Jack Daniel will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Rich Hill. The body will be cremated. Friends may call until service time at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday
