Mrs. Ellen CLARK an old and highly respected resident of this city died at her home on Wells St. Tuesday morning after a lingering illness, aged 70 years. The funeral will occur Friday morning at 9 o'clock from the Catholic church and interment will be made in the Catholic cemetery. Deceased was a native of County Monaghan, Ireland, and emigrated with her husband, the late Bernard CLARK, to America in 1857, settling in Mineral Point. The husband died in 1866. leaving his young wife with six small children to battle with the world. Mrs. CLARK moved to Darlington in 1867, where she continued to reside up to the time of her death. She was a consistent member of the Catholic church and died trusting in a blessed immortality. Five children survive, Mary and Phillip CLARK of this city; Mrs. P.H. TORPHY of Tunnel City, WA; Henry of Luverne, MN; and John of ND, who have the sympathy of the community in their sore affliction.
A good woman has gone to her reward.
