REV. MURPHY'S SISTER IS DEAD
Mrs. Mary Alexander, 79, Dies at Home Here-Funeral Monday Morning.
Mrs. Mary A. Alexander, 79, widow of Albert W. Alexander and sister of the Rev. George H. Murphy, died at 12:30 o'clock this afternoon at her home, 1211 Pearl street.
Mrs. Alexander came here in 1933 to make her home with her brother when Mr. Murphy retired from the active ministry.
Funeral services will be held at 9 o'clock Monday morning at the Hathaway funeral home, conducted by the Rev. R. O. Pearson. Burial will be made in Crown Hill cemetery, Indianapolis. The casket will not be open at the funeral home, and the service at the cemetery will be private.
Mrs. Alexander was born in Indianapolis and spent her entire life in Indiana. She was always active in the Methodist church, and affiliated with the First M. E. when she came to Columbus.
Surviving are a son, E. R. Alexander of Hollywood, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. C. Z. Coffin of Kansas City, Mo.; two brothers, the one here and William H. Murphy of Forth Worth, Texas, and a grandson, Harold Likert of Seattle, Wash.
