When young she gave her heart to God and joined the M.E. Church, south. On February 22nd, 1868, she was married to S.W. Bynum and with her husband joined the M.E. Church, and lived a consistent member until death. There were six children born to this union. Her husband departed this life January 2nd, 1900, leaving her heartbroken. She has made her home with her son, R.S. Bynum, since the death of her husband. The children who are left to mourn are: L.P. Bynum, Mrs. J.W. Crawford, W.B. and R. S. Bynum, Mrs A.T. Foust. The second son, Bailey, died a few years ago after the death of her father. The deceased has three brothers living - Bail, Elijah, and Tapley Murphree.
She has no fears of death. Truly a good woman has gone from us, but her life is as immortal as her soul and that life yet speaks and works through its influence in our lives. Oh! How we miss her in our home. When we come in her room, the corner she sat in so much is vacant. May the God of comfort be precious to the aged brothers and children. May they remember life is short and death is sure and be prepared to meet the mother they loved so well.
Her remains were laid to rest at Liberty
cemetery, the funeral services being conducted by Rev. S.F. Mabry, J.B. Miller and S.S. Owen and others.
Every grave suggests another,
Gently to the passer-by;
But the grave of mother,
Points beyone it to the sky.
Written by her daughter-in-law, Mrs. R.S. Bynum.
