Marianne Murchison Bunch
1944 - 2011
Marianne Murchison Bunch ~ "Memaw" ~ Born in Clarksville, Georgia August 1, 1944 to A.J. and Louise Smith Murchison, Jr.; our beloved Marianne earned her Golden Angel Wings Wednesday January 26, 2011 after a long and valiant battle with lung cancer. Growing up in a military family sparked a life-long love of travel and adventure, one which she often satisfied with a good book and her vivid imagination. During her second year of Secretarial Sciences studies at Middle Georgia College, she found her true love and soul mate Mitchell Louis Bunch. They married in August, 1963 and began their beautiful journey together, filled with family, friends, and laughter. Not long after moving to Gulf Breeze in 1980, Marianne discovered her life's passion and began her Commercial Banking career with what is now SunTrust Bank. After 27 years of building relationships with her banking customers, she retired in 2007 as Vice President of Commercial Loans.
God blessed Marianne and Mitch with four beautiful children Lauri (Dan) Erickson, Mountain Home, Idaho; Leonard (Lisa Marie) Bunch, US Navy, Bahrain; Lawrence (Sherri) Bunch, Gulf Breeze; Lisa (Kerry) Gardner, Louisville, KY; twelve wonderful grand-children Steven Buttrick, Carrie Schwind, Jonathan Buttrick, William Bunch, Tiffany Bunch, Tyler Gardner, Skye Wood, Darian Bunch, Duncan Wood, Mairian Bunch, Katlyn Woods, and Kameron Gardner; and a precious first great-grandchild Tucker Schwind.
Our dearest Memaw was greeted in heaven by her parents, her brother Jack, and her dear Father-in-Law John Paul Strozier.
Left to help her immediate family keep her warm-fire spirit and love forever shining brightly are her beloved Mother in Law Mavis Strozier; Mitch's bother Mike and sisters Beverly and Paula and their families; special Daughter-in-Love LeAnn, many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins; her Wesley Haven Villas, United Methodist Homes, and Gadsden Street Methodist Church families; her treasured loved ones Tina, Ramsey, Bobbie, Lucy, Samantha, Warren, Mia, Robin, Mac, Fuchsia, her Poker Ladies with the Ladies Auxiliary at Eagles Aerie #3483, and a beautifully endless circle of friends who brought her great joy.
Special thanks to Ann Knight, Mom's Earth Angel, and everyone at Covenant Hospice for their tender loving care, and to all whose love, thoughts and prayers have sustained our family during this difficult time.
A celebration of Marianne's life will be held at Gadsden Street United Methodist Church, Rev. John Baxter officiating, Sunday January 30, 2011 at 2:00 p.m., followed by a reception in the fellowship hall.
Louise Miller and the Pensacola Memorial Gardens family have been lovingly entrusted with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, Marianne would be honored for you to make a donation to The Fountain of Love at Wesley Haven Villa or Covenant Hospice in celebration of the difference she made to the lives she touched.
