Funeral services for Della Anderson will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, October, 30, 2009 at Walker Funeral Home with Father Cliff Jacobsen of St. Matthews Catholic Church as celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Walker Funeral Home.
Della Anderson age 67, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2009 at University Hospital, Denver, Colorado.
Della Elizabeth Anderson was born in Denver, Colorado on November 7, 1941 to Jesse and Margaret (Folks) Munoz.
In 1948 at the age of six she moved with her mother and step-father Gilbert Vigil to Gillette, WY. She attended school and graduated in 1960 from Campbell County High School.
She married Bert Dean Norfolk and they had one son Bert Dean Norfolk Jr. She later married Jimmy D. Anderson and they had a daughter Jolene, they later divorced.
Della lived in Moorcroft, WY for a few years moving back to Gillette after her marriage to Jimmy. She worked for several businesses including A & G Laundromat, Jim's Water Service, Holiday Inn, and then eleven years at Grahams Motor CO. a.k.a. Barth Motor Co. In 1997 she went to work in the office for New Horizons Roofing, She enjoyed meeting the customers, working, bossing, and joking with the guys…even the boss,
she retired in 2007.
Della loved traveling, She and Jimmy traveled from the east to west coast. Later she would fly to different places with her grandchildren always having a merry time. When Della couldn't drive anymore Jolene and her family and the grandkids would take her where she wanted to go. Della also enjoyed watching her "Broncos", Golden Girls, CSI, Little House on Praire, and QVC.
She is survived by her two daughters, Jolene Leonard and Margaret (Honna) Washburn of Gillette, WY; and one son Bert Dean Norfolk, JR of Gillette, WY; granddaughters and grandson, and one great grandson. One half brother and one half sister, David and Sonia Munoz of Denver, CO.
She was proceed in death by her step-father Gilbert Vigil and mother Margaret Vigil. Father Jesse Munoz of Denver, CO; sister, Helen Ornelas of Las Vegas, NV.
A memorial has been established in her name to benefit the Salvation Army, memorials and condolences may be sent in care of the Walker Funeral Home, 410 Medical Arts Court, Gillette, WY 82716. Condolences may also be sent via the
