Born in Sydney Mines, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Sicily (Gear) Kelland. Asneth was a gifted seamstress and was well known for her prom and bridesmaids dresses. She also loved knitting and crocheting and loved to bake, dance, bowl, play darts and swim at the Northside Community Pool. She was also active with the Bras d'Or Senior Citizens and Pensioners Club.
Asneth is survived by her children Richard (Isabel) Kelland, Dalem Lake, Patsy (Cliff) Burton, Mill Creek, Leonard (Debbie) Marsh, Sydney Mines, Donnie (Michelle) Marsh, Edmonton, her step-children Marlene (Ian) MacLean, Middle River, Irene (Hal) Hill, Georges River, Billy (Denise) Mulley, Baddeck, Donnie Mulley, Florence, Colleen (John) Roberts, Hammonds Plains, Kim (Scott) Young, Calgary; step daughter-in-law Bonita Mulley, Florence; her 8 grandchildren Ricky, Randy and Rodney Kelland, Wayne Burton, John, Tracy, Kim and Derek Marsh; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. Also surviving are her 13 step-grandchildren Matthew, Rory MacLean, Janine Kennedy, Steven & Adam Hill, Amanda, Jason, Cara, & Kyle Mulley, Chelsea Slade, Kimberlee Campbell & Kate Roberts, Marc Young and 5 step great-great grandchildren. She is survived also by her siblings Nelson Kelland, Sydney Mines, Charles (Pauline) Kelland, North Sydney, Eileen (Norman) Matheson, Big Bras d'Or, Annie McGean, North Sydney, Madeline Giles, Owen Sound, brother-in-law Eddie Petrowski, Winnipeg, many nieces and nephews and her friend of 80 years Theresa Reid, North Sydney and very good friend Dean Marsh, Sydney Mines.
She was predeceased by her first husband Leo Francis Marsh; infant son Ronald; her second husband William Mulley; brothers Melbourne Kelland; infant brother William; her sisters Sadie Totten and Viola Petrowski.
There will be no visitation or funeral service by her request. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bras d'Or, at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney.
