She died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Arlene P. Muir, the daughter of Keith and Viola (Winter) Muir, was born Jan. 23, 1939, in Jackson, Minn.
Arlene moved with her family to Estherville at the age of 10. She graduated from Estherville High School in 1958.
After graduating from high school, Arlene babysat for many families in Estherville. Later she was employed at Wadco Foods in Estherville for many years. Then she went to work for Sperry Univac in Jackson, Minn. In her leisure time she enjoyed dancing. She loved being teased by friends and family. Another favorite hobby was playing cards and board games. Arlene especially enjoyed playing 500. She loved watching old movies and Disney movies were her favorite. She had a great love for dogs. Arlene's greatest pleasure in life was spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews.
She was a member of United Methodist Church in Estherville. Arlene was also a member of the Superior Cemetery Association, O. A. and a volunteer for the Emmet County Relay for Life.
Grateful for having shared Arlene's life are her mother, Viola Triggs of Estherville; sister, Carolyn Ellis of Fort Collins, Colo.; brother, Mark Triggs of Estherville and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Arlene in death were her father; brother, Steven Triggs and baby sister, Connie Triggs.
