Services Held for Gladys [Puhrmann] Muhs

Services for Gladys Muhs were held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hartley, Iowa, on Tuesday; December 12, 1984, at 2 p.m. with the Reverend John Schauer officiating.
"I Know That My Redeemer Lives", "How Great Thou Art", were sung by the congregation with Mrs. Ray Ahlers at the organ. The casket bearers were Paul Miller, Miles Puhrmann, Robert Puhrmann, Mark Puhrmann, Leon Puhrmann and Larry Puhrmann.

The committal service was held at the [West] Pleasant View Cemetery, Hartley. The Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

OBITUARY

Gladys Puhrmann Muhs, the daughter of George and Emma Beerman [Beermann] Puhrmann, was born August 26, 1912 at Paullina, Iowa. She attended rural school near her childhood home.

She was united in marriage to Julius Muhs at Hartley on June 30, 1950. They made their home on a farm south of Hartley until moving to town in 1976. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Hartley.

She passed away at the hospital in Hartley on December 8, 1984 at the age of 72. Preceding her in death, were her parents, three brothers and one granddaughter.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Julius, two sons, Rodney Puhrmann of Mankato, Minn., and Rolin Muhs of Hartley; two daughters, Mrs. Cliff (Ronda) Pry of Sanborn and Ronene Muhs of Hartley; one step-son, Jack Muhs of Parksville, Mo.; eight grandchildren, five brothers, Bentley, Ray, Martin, Lee and Ralph, all of Paullina; four sisters, Mrs. Emmett (Ruth) Burhow of LeRoy, Minn., Mrs. Elsie Miller and Mrs. Emily Meyer, both of Paullina, and Mrs. Clifford (June) Miller of Cleghorn as well as other relatives and friends.
