Jean (Muehlbach) Wedow
Jean Wedow, age 85, of Kansas City, MO, left this life on April 9, 2006. Visitation and Memorial service will be held at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd., Kansas City, MO on Monday, April 17, 2006. Visitation will be from 12-1 p.m. with the Memorial service immediately following. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke's Hospice, 3100 Broadway, Kansas City, MO, 64111 and/or Cancer Action, 1813 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, KS, 66102. Jean was born in Eldorado, KS on February 27, 1921 to Margaret Hale and George Muehlbach. At age eight, the untimely death of her mother led to her moving from Minneapolis, MN to Kansas City, MO to live with her maternal grandmother, Catherine Hale. She graduated from Loretto Academy and soon fell in love with and married "the boy next door" Robert Wedow. Together they happily raised four children. Her goal in life was to be a loving wife and mother. She more than succeeded due to her extreme devotion to her family. She was an avid reader of mystery books and usually knew "who done it" before reaching the end of the story. Words can not describe the emptiness we feel without her in our lives. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wedow Sr. and son, Robert Wedow Jr. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Walter and Dianne Wedow; daughters, Barbara Beam and Anne Wedow; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
