Funeral services for Frances Moyle, age 83, a long time Lenox resident, who died Sunday, June 26, 2005 at CLC in Altoona were held Thursday, June 30, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Presbyterian Church. Interment was be held at the East Fairview Cemetery in Lenox. Memorials can be given to the Frances Moyle Memorial Fund. Frances Mary Rhoades Moyle, long time Lenox residence died June 26, 2005, at CLC Altoona after a long struggle with Alzheimer's. Frances was born January 11, 1922, in Adams County, IA to Admiral R. and Ruth Anna Tripp Rhoades. She attended Lenox High School, was a member of the Sunny Sisters 4-H Club and graduated in 1939. In 1939 she also received the Health Champion Blue Ribbon at the Iowa State Fair. She attended Creston College. Frances married Hal Dean Moyle in August, 1942 in Vancouver, WA.
Following Hal's time in the service, the couple moved home to Lenox. Frances began working for Bob Reynolds Agency in 1964, and worked there for over twenty-five years. She also worked for Bender Reynolds Agency. Her husband Hal died on January 11, 1966. The two were married for twenty-three years and four months. Frances was dedicated to her family and spent much of her caring for and providing for her children and her grandchildren.
Frances was a long time member of the Lenox United Presbyterian Church, a member of the PEO for more than fifty years. She served on the Lenox Library Board, was involved with the Taylor County Red Cross, having donated 66 pints of blood, was a member of the Hospice and Respice team and served on the Lenox Homes Board.
Frances is survived by her children Mary Moyle of East Moline, IL., James and Marjean Moyle of Des Moines, IA., and Elizabeth and Dean Cooper of Pleasant Hill, IA.; Grandsons Michael (Amy) Mayo-Moyle, Gregory Moyle, Nicholas Cooper, Blaine Moyle and great-granddaughter Allison Mayo-Moyle; Sisters Florence Garrick (John) of Tacoma, WA., Jean (Curt) Ostrem of Ames, IA., and a brother Robert (Pat) Rhoades of Lenox, IA., a sister-in-law Maxine Moyle-Berdrow of CA; and many loved nieces and nephews. Frances was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
While lives are marked by a beginning and end, France's life will be marked with the legacy of a loving family who was with her throughout her long journey. Her passing is both a loss and a comfort. At the end, Frances won her battle with Alzheimer's by moving into a world of peace and perfect memory.
