MaryAnn (Mowrey) Halibozek, daughter of Rachel Mowrey and the late Hareley Mowrey of West Hartford passed away January 11th after a brief illness. "Mimi", a lifelong resident of West Hartford graduated from Dickinson College and Hartford College for Women with degrees in English, Theatre Arts and Early Childhood Education. Many of West Hartford's young adults enjoyed MaryAnn's exuberant and nurturing care as young children. For the past several years MaryAnn was the secretary of Immanuel Church in Hartford where she enjoyed a wonderful congregation and met some of her dearest friends. It was at Immanuuel that MaryAnn reignited her passion for theatre. She performed in many plays including those at The Hartford Children's Theatre, Park Road Playhouse, the Goshen Playhouse and The Hole in the Wall Theatre in New Britain. She will always be remembered for her consummate acting, passionate living and being a loving and supportive mother. MaryAnn is survived by her husband John, her son Matthew of Essex Junction, VT, her brother H. James Howrey of South Windsor, and her uncle and aunt James and Margery Weir of Woodbridge. A memorial service will be held Monday, January 19th at 11 a.m. in Immanuel Congregational Church 10 Woodland St. Hartford. In lieu of flowers, kindly make donations to the National Brain Tumor Society, 124 Watertown St. Suite 2D, Watertown, MA 02472 or a chaity of your choice.
