Stella was the Daughter of Frederick Begeman, & Melissa Jane Bedwell, family name was Begeman but became Begerman after Fred died in Missouri . She married Oliver Perry Mounts and had eight children. 5 Sons, Arvel, Samuel, Arthur, Oliver Elmo,& Lester, 3 daughters Lovina, Forest, and Minnie. She was preceded in death by her husband Oliver in 1921 who was killed in a mining accident. Stella lost her battle with stomach cancer and passed away in the Fall of 1938. Her one dream was to see that all her children graduated from high school which they did, Stella worked in her Grandfather's store when a teen and after Oliver died she rented the farm at times moved into town for a short time and was the local phone company switchboard operator, in 1977 I was in Pleasantville and I talked to some seniors there and they all remembered my Grandmother's sweet voice on the phone.

Linton Daily Citizen 19 Nov 1938; MRS. MOUNTS, 58 CALLED BY DEATH; Resident of Dugger Rural Route Dies; Rites Announced. Mrs Stella R. Mounts, 58 years old, widow of Oliver Mounts passed away in her home on Dugger rural route 1 at 7:45 o'clock last evening following an illness of six months duration. Mrs. Mounts was born July 28. 1880. The daughter of Fred (Frederick) and Jane (Melissa Jane) Bedwell Begerman(Begeman). She was 58 years 3 months and 20 days of age at the time of her death. Mrs. Mounts was a member of the Mt. Moriah Methodist church, and when her health permitted, had played an active part in the affairs of that congregation. She is survived by the following children: Orval (Arvel) Mounts of Alexandria, Mrs. Lovina Hutchison of Jasonville route 1, Mrs. Forest Cleveland of Carlisle, Mrs. Minnie Medley of Worthington, Samuel Mounts of Carlisle route 1, and three sons, at home. Arthur, Elmo (Oliver Elmo) , and Lester. Other survivors are ten grandchildren and two brothers, James Begerman of Linton route 2, and Joshua Begerman of Paxton rural route. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the Methodist church in Pleasantville with Rev. Tom Avery in charge, and burial will be made in the Bethany cemetery.
