THE STAFF OF GENERAL GEORGE WASHINGTON.

Anna Irving Motte, born Thursday 23rd February 1860 at 1/4 before 7 o’clock
A.M. at Exeter. Baptised on Sunday afternoon 1st April 1860 at Exeter
Plantation by Revd. Mr. Howe. Sponsors Dr. I. R. & Mrs. Motte.William
LeTout Motte, born Sunday 27th October 1861 at 7 o’clock P.M. at
Whiteville, St. John’s Berkely - Baptised at Exeter Plantation on the 12th
Dec. 1861 by the Revd W. B. W. Howe. Sponsors, Dr. I Rhett & Mrs. Motte.

Departed this life at Whiteville, Anna Irving Motte, on Thursday 24th July
1862 at 8 A.M she was interred at Exeter on the 25th July, aged 2 years, 5
months & 1 day.
“No bitter tears for thee to shed. Blossom of being! Seen and Gone! With flowers alone we strew they bed, O blest departed one! Whose all of life, a rosy ray, Blish’d into dawn and passed away.”

 
 
Inscription:
