Rita Motte Alpough
A homemaker and a resident of Erwinville, she died at 2:15 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2007, at her daughter's (Wanda Decuir's) home in Erwinville. She was 78. Visiting at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lebeau on Thursday, May 24, from 9 a.m. until religious service at noon, conducted by the Rev. Walter Cerbin, S.S.J. Burial in the church cemetery. Survived by her four daughters, Fran Pearson and friend Bobby Davis, Wanda Decuir and fiancÚ Kenneth Colson, Connie and husband Nathan Wright, and Tammy Robert, all of Erwinville; six sons, Leon Jr. and wife Lillian Alpough, Palmetto, Ga., Larry and wife Shirley Alpough, Erwinville, Carl and wife Deborah Alpough, Sunset, Terry and wife Charlene Alpough, Opelousas, Danny Alpough, Erwinville, and Peter Alpough, Lebeau; six sisters, Augusta and Shirley Donatto, Annette and Perine Ellis, Catherine Gauthier and Betty Davis; two brothers, Lawrence Motte and Joseph Motte; 13 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Vincent Alpough and Frank Sam; and a sister-in-law, Joyceleen Motte. Preceded in death by her husband, Leon Alpough Sr.; parents, John and Mary Motte; brother, John Motte; and sisters, Helen Sam and Veronica Auzenne. Pallbearers will be Freddie Wright, DeUlric Alpough, Desmond Pearson, Shermaine Baker, Leon Alpough III and Paul Roberts. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, flowering her garden, but most of all spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
