Carole Ann Liss, 64, of Orlando, Fla., beloved wife and mother, died Saturday, March 24, 2007, of complications after a six-and-a-half-year battle with lung cancer.
Carole was born in Meadville Jan. 22, 1943, to Roland and Jane Mott. She is survived by her husband, two sons, a sister, three brothers, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Roland and Jane; and a brother, Roland Mott Jr.

Carole attended Edinboro College, and McMurry College in Abilene, Texas. She was a high-energy, actively involved person with an outgoing personality. She was liked by all who knew her and she especially loved children. Carole lived in 10 states and two foreign countries. Throughout her life she traveled extensively through the United States and 17 countries.

During her husband's Air Force career she was actively involved with the Officer's Wives Club, serving as secretary, social chairwoman, Wages and Means and Social committees. She was artistic, studied painting under a Portuguese master, and was gifted in arts and craft. Carole was a Red Cross volunteer working in hospitals in the aid and comfort of the sick.

During the Vietnam years, she met and assisted to the needs of servicemen when they first returned from the war. Carole served as the president and secretary of the Seminole Spokes of Central Florida. She was involved in numerous charitable and social activities. She was a caring person who helped anyone in their time of need. As she battled her own disease, she often expressed a desire to work with cancer patients to encourage them to cope. She faced her disease with style and was model on how to cope with a dreadful disease. Her wish when she died was to go to heaven and hold the babies who died of cancer.

Taken too soon, she will be greatly missed by her husband of 43 years, two sons, relatives, friends and all who knew her.
