At 1:30 Monday afternoon, following ill health of several years and serious sickness of over two weeks duration, Mrs. Alzina Graves, widow of the late Abial S. Graves, passed to eternal rest. A general breaking down was the attributed cause of death.
Graves was a daughter of the late Sylvenus Mott of Lee Center, in which place she was born 79 years ago last May.
She was reared in her native town, but in young womanhood was married to Charles Rice. He died and about 43 years ago in the city of Rome she became Mrs. Graves, though they both resided in Westmoreland. Shortly after their marriage they came to Camden and until after his death five years ago they resided on a farm about five miles out on the Mexico road.
Mrs. Graves was a respected lady, a kind neighbor and one whose memory will long be cherished by those who knew her.
She leaves an only son, Benj. S. Graves, with whom she resided and two sisters, Mrs. Angelina Campbell of Taberg and Mrs. Lavine Moffet of Waterloo, IA.
The funeral was held at 3 p.m. yesterday at her late home on Church St., the Rev. H.W. Markham officiating. This morning the remains were taken to Westmoreland to rest in the family plot. Camden Advance-Journal, Thursday, July 14, 1910
